Manufacturer's Brand Overview: [Edit]
Based in Austin, Texas, Sweet Leaf Tea was founded in 1998 by Clayton Christopher. Using his grandmother's tried-and-true iced-tea recipe, Clayton and his best friend and business partner, David Smith, brewed the original batches of Sweet Leaf Tea in pillowcases, using crawfish pots as brew tanks. Sweet Leaf Tea is all-natural, made with real cane sugar and is offered in ten traditional iced-tea flavors: Organic Original Sweet Tea, Diet Original Sweet Tea, Organic Mint & Honey Green Tea, Diet Mint & Honey Green Tea, Organic Peach Sweet Tea, Diet Peach Sweet Tea, Raspberry Sweet Tea, Lemon Lime Unsweet Tea, Organic Very Berry Hibiscus Tea, and Organic Half & Half Lemonade Tea. Sweet Leaf Tea can be purchased in the original 16 ounce glass bottle, the gallon plastic bottle, and now the 12 ounce and 20 ounce plastic bottles. Sweet Leaf Tea can be found in natural and specialty stores throughout the country. With customers like Whole Foods Market, Wild Oats and Safeway, Sweet Leaf Tea is one of the fastest-growing beverage companies in the U.S. In Spring 2007, Sweet Leaf Tea will launch a line of granny-inspired all-natural, fresh-squeezed lemonades: Organic Original Lemonade, Organic Peach Lemonade, and Organic Cherry Limeade.

Blueberry Lemonade
Category: Juice: Fruit Juice; Packaging: 16 oz glass mason jar
BevNET Review:
Delivering natural blueberry and lemon flavors, Sweet Leaf has done an excellent job formulating this product. The flavor is clean, crisp, and fruity, with a moderate level of sweetness that provides a nice complement to the naturally sour flavor of lemon. The use of cane sugar is a huge plus, resulting in a mouth feel that's very light compared to many competing lemonade drinks. Packaging is a 16 oz mason jar, which certainly fits well with the "granny" themed label on the bottle. Otherwise, it's probably not the most practical packaging format, but it's certainly one that will grab eyes and whet the consumer's appetite for this high quality drink. Definitely worth a try -- their best lemonade yet.

Cherry Limeade
Category: Juice: Juice Drink; Packaging: 16 fl oz (474 ml) Glass Mason Jars
BevNET Review:
Sweet Leaf has done a great job of creating a bottled…err jarred…product that has fresh squeezed limeade taste. It tastes like exactly what we'd expect cherry limeade to taste like -- just lime juice and cherry flavor -- 100% natural (and organic, in this case). The mason jar packaging is extremely eye-catching, but, on the other hand, it's not the most practical of packages. Specifically, the size is rather awkward in your hand and the wide mouth is somewhat difficult to drink out of (we'd recommend using a straw). Still, it's different and the taste of the product is second to none -- so we're going to choose form over function with this product, especially since it's Sweet Leaf's best flavor to date.

Original
Category: Juice: Juice Drink; Packaging: 16 fl oz (474 ml) Glass Mason Jars
BevNET Review:
Straight up organic lemonade, not from concentrate -- how can you go wrong? The extremely addictive flavor tastes homemade, with the only exception being that it lacks a lot of pulp. Cane sugar and "not from concentrate" juice make a huge difference, while the mason jar gives it a distinct look that stands apart from the category. Overall, an exceptionally well executed twist on an old-fashioned product.

Peach
Category: Juice: Juice Drink; Packaging: 16 fl oz (474 ml) Glass Mason Jars
BevNET Review:
Peach Lemonade is sweetest-tasting flavor of the new mason jar lineup, but it's also the most original. The 40% juice blend has a pretty simple list of ingredients, including peach juice, lemon juice, cane juice, and natural flavors. The result is a very wholesome, homemade flavor that has a nice balance of sweet and sour flavors. And like the other flavors, the mason jar gives the product a striking appearance that works nicely with the Sweet Leaf brand. Overall, it's the complete package of refreshing taste and unique packaging.
